Manage Your Donet Spam Filter

Manage Your Donet Spam Filter

While Donet’s current spam fighting infrastructure does wonders against unsolicited emails, we also offer users powerful tools to enable customers to be proactive in the fight against unwanted junk mail. Say a newsletter you once received has become tiresome and your requests for removal have not been heeded, or a long lost friend frequently sends you chain letters that you never receive – the Donet spam filter gives you the power to deal with either situation. Follow the simple steps below to register for and manage your Donet spam filter.

First, browse to my.donet.com in your favorite web browser. Then click the option (highlighted below) for ‘E-mail Filtering Tools’.

This will direct you to a log-in screen – if you have not yet used this tool, click the link to register.

spam2

After confirming your registration, you will be directed back to the log-in screen – use your full email address when authenticating.

spam31

Once you have logged in, you will need to select the email address you would like to manage the spam settings for. To register additional addresses, there is an option at this screen.

spam4

After selecting the address you wish to manage, you will be directed to the ‘General Settings’ screen. It is here that you can make changes to the general filter sensitivity, change your password, etc. If you would like all of your spam to be delivered directly to your Inbox, or to a separate email address, it is at this screen that you can make these changes. Additional configuration options are across the top. Other sections such as the ‘Adult Content’ and ‘Country Filter’ are self-explanatory.

spam5

Two specifically useful sections of the spam management tool are the ‘Block List’ and ‘Safe List’ configuration options. Here you can add email addresses you always want to receive mail from, or those that you never want to see. You can add individual addresses, one per line, or block everything from an entire domain – *@spam.com, for example.

spam6

Feel free to experiment with your spam settings, as they only affect the address you are editing. If you have a domain name and email through Donet and would like to manage spam settings for your entire domain, please just give us a call.
