Windows x64 Cisco VPN Client
The general purpose Cisco VPN Client does not support x64 Windows. Cisco’s 64 bit VPN Client is called the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client, providing remote users with secure VPN connections to the Cisco 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliance. The AnyConnect client supports Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 2000, Mac OS X, and Linux but is only for Cisco SSL VPNs.
A 64 bit windows user must find alternatives. Here are some possibilities:
- Purchase and install the NCP Secure Entry Client, by Network Communications Products Engineering GmbH
- Use Cisco’s 32 bit client from within a virtual machine.
- Try the free Shrew Soft VPN Client.
