I love working on the Internet from Donet HQ. ‘Nuff said.

Compare your speeds at https://my.donet.com/speedtest.

So why do my tests come in at 5064 kbps DOWN and 640 kbps UP?

    Excellent question, Gene!

The first point to make is that I’m executing the speed test from my office inside the Donet network. I’m physically connected to that network, so my speeds are bound to be faster — MUCH faster.

Based on your speed test results, it looks like you’re a 6 megabit/sec DSL customer. Your throughput, both up and down, are pretty close to what we would expect for 6 mbps ADSL. Remember, ADSL is asymmetric digital subscriber line, which means that your download and upload speeds are going to be different. The network is designed to favor download speeds since most of our customers are downloading data FROM the Internet rather than uploading data TOWARDS the Internet.

Thanks for checking out our blog, and for your question. I hope I answered it for you.
